McGuinn was a Drama student, which
shows in the natural flow of her dialogue, and she took many English classes,
but ended up with a BA in Psychology. She worked as a probation officer and
as a child protection caseworker/investigator, then returned to school for
her MS in Education, specializing in Learning and Behavior Disorders. She
continued her studies to become certified as a Reading Specialist as well.
She has worked in rural, urban, and reservation schools. Tough teens have
